This 20ft shipping container is modified specifically for confined space entry and safety training. The container begins as a standard ISO-certified unit and undergoes structural modification including roof deck installation, hatch cutouts, and safety equipment mounting points.
A custom roof deck is attached using twist locks and is fully removable. The deck includes galvanized steel grating with removable sections to allow maintenance access to the roof. Two roof hatches are installed to provide vertical entry points into the container interior.
The container doors include two ISEO fire escape crash bars designed for emergency egress. Davit arm mounts are integrated into the deck structure to accommodate fall arrest systems. A modular access system including a removable ladder, handrails, and safety platform is attached to the exterior.
The container body is constructed from 14-gauge Corten steel. All cut edges and weld points are finished with rust-inhibiting coating. The floor consists of 1.125-inch thick marine-grade plywood. Four ventilation ports are installed to reduce condensation buildup.
The unit is designed for ground-level placement on a level, prepared surface. Lighting configurations can be adjusted for low-light or blackout training scenarios. The training organization is responsible for verifying that all safety equipment and training procedures meet applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
